WASHINGTON

Washington offers veteran trips year around targeting species such as salmon/steelhead, elk/deer, turkey, upland game, waterfowl and a unique opportunity at sea duck hunting along our beautiful coastlines and Puget Sound. Our Puget Sound and the Pacific Ocean offers a wide variety of aquatic species you can target as well, such as bottom fish, tuna, salmon, halibut, crab, shrimp. Our state borders Oregon with the famous Columbia River. This river offers tributaries that spring out all over the entire state where species like trout, bass walleye, sturgeon can also be found alongside the salmon and steelhead. The state also has numerous lakes that we hold large events on, targeting Kokanee on Merwin and Yale and sockeye salmon out of baker lake. In the eastern side of the state, we are more known for our bass and walleye fisheries in the Bank’s Lake and potholes area. Turkey hunting can be great if you find the right areas, as some of our western states are starting to see larger populations. Elk is a big game animal that the state is widely known for. We have offered numerous trophy and bucket list hunts for select veterans on a yearly basis.  Washington falls under the pacific flyway which offers one of the longest and best waterfowl seasons the nation has to offer. In the state of Washington, it wouldn’t be uncommon for you if you hunted enough days to run into around 20 or so different species of waterfowl.

We have 48 staffers in total which also individually run anywhere around 35-50 solo trips collectively a year between hunting and fishing. As a total, we average around 2,500 vets a year taken outdoors on events or staff trips. The state organizes an annual banquet each year that brings in a seating of around 350-400 people a banquet. Recently the state organized with the WDFW “operations wings for warriors” which is an additional day of waterfowl hunting following the regular season for youth and veteran hunters only. We were able to get 194 veterans out for that event for this year.

Our big annual events are:
• Operation Salmon out of Ridgefield WA
• American Lake Annual Trout Event
• Nemah River Chinook fishing
• Operation Wings for Warriors Duck/Goose Hunt
• Banks Lake Walleye Event
• Black Friday Sturgeon Event
• New Year’s Eve Sturgeon Event
• Yale Reservoir Annual Kokanee Event
• Mayfield Lake Annual Trout Event
• Annual Pheasant Hunt
