Oregon has everything it takes to be on any big game hunter’s bucket list with over 34 million acres of public land open to hunters. Diverse habitats from coastal rain forests to eastern deserts, with a couple of mountain ranges in between offer opportunities for elk, deer, pronghorn, and bighorn sheep. Game bird hunting includes upland birds, waterfowl, and turkey, and is some of the most accessible hunting in Oregon. There is a diverse waterfowl species from sea ducks in coastal still waters, to puddle ducks in the alkali basins of southeast Oregon, to widespread goose populations. We have year-round fishing that spans the state from trout in the eastern deserts to rockfish and halibut in ocean waters – with lots of salmon, steelhead, trout and warm water fishing in between. Whether you like to fish ponds or lakes or want to head to one of the state’s premier fishing destinations, there will be a place for you to fish in Oregon every day of the year. Crabbing and digging for razor clams is also available all along the 36o miles of coastline.
Team Oregon averages 146 trips a year and can facilitate some handicapped hunting and fishing trips. However, opportunities are limited and must be planned well in advance.
