Nestled along the Atlantic coast, Maryland is home to some of the best waterfowl hunting and fishing in the area. From the evasive snakehead to the elusive “marsh ghost” aka sika deer, Maryland offers opportunities that aren’t typically available throughout the United States.
Whether you’re looking to hunt with a firearm, bow, or simply a camera, Maryland is home to many different birds or mammals such as white-tail deer, sika deer, eastern cottontail, opossum, gray fox, red fox, coyote, gray squirrel, southern flying squirrel, beaver, muskrat, mink, river otter, skunk, raccoon, doves, wild turkey, ruffed grouse, bobwhite quail, ring-necked pheasant, teal ducks, mallards, wood ducks, black ducks, canvasbacks, hooded mergansers, pintails, redheads, scaup, tree ducks, mottled ducks, sea ducks, brant, Canada goose, coots, and light geese (snow goose). If fishing is your get-away of choice, Maryland has many species such as American eel, Atlantic spadefish, black crappie, black drum, black sea bass, bluefish, brook trout, brown trout, chain pickerel, channel catfish, cobia, croaker, fallfish, largemouth bass, muskellunge, northern pike, northern snakehead, rainbow trout, red drum, sheepshead, smallmouth bass, Spanish mackerel, spot, spotted seatrout, striped bass aka rockfish, summer flounder (fluke), tautog, walleye, weakfish, white perch, and yellow perch. What would Maryland be without some blue crabs? During the summer months, you’ll find watermen working the waters throughout Maryland for the best crab around.
With the abundance of wildlife and water throughout the state, Team Maryland will be busy hunting, fishing, and scouting out new opportunities. If you would like to get involved with TFO Team Maryland, please feel free to reach out to the team.

The Fallen Outdoors Team Maryland would like to express our thanks to those who reached out to help us make 2021 a SUCCESSFUL year.
Legion of Anglers – thank you for getting some members out on Maryland’s Eastern Shore in search of the evasive northern snakehead. It was a great trip for the team that we’re hoping to continue for years to come.
Hickory Knolls Outfitters – thank you for the early season Canada goose action as well as allowing us to secure some great hunting grounds.
Len Nicewonger with God’s Outdoor Angels – thank you for donating the rockfish trip as well as putting together the upcoming upload bird hunt.
Michael Loveless and Scott Willis – thank you for going out of your way to build hunting blinds for TFO members to use during hunts on their properties and thank you for the successful muzzleloader hunt.
Zoey’s Fowl Retrievers – thank you for partnering with us to bring Hero to the Line to The Fallen Outdoors. The mission of Hero to the Line is to pair Veterans/Service Members with a working Labrador Retriever puppy that will help them develop a lifelong love of the outdoors.
